Digital rewards / electronic delivery
Electronic describes how a reward reaches the customer
A reward is electronic when its delivery or access is handled digitally rather than through a physical handoff. That description does not determine where the benefit can be used or make different reward types interchangeable.
Name the benefit as well as the channel
A digital message may lead to a virtual card, a store-specific gift card, or account credit. Each has different conditions. A Shopify offer should identify the category rather than suggesting that any electronic reward provides the same experience.
- Electronic delivery
- A digital method of notifying the recipient or providing access to a benefit.
- Virtual card
- Card information supplied digitally rather than as a physical card.
- Digital notification
- A message about the reward; it is not proof of access or use.
Follow the recipient across the boundary
The merchant may recognize the purchase while the recipient later encounters a separate delivery destination. Explain the connection so the customer does not interpret the new destination as an unrelated advertisement. A recognizable offer and a clear next action matter more than labeling every step 'seamless'.
Do not infer features from the format
Electronic delivery is not a promise of instant availability, mobile-wallet support, or use with every merchant. Read the actual card or reward terms for those questions. When the program relies on a review or customer action, that step remains part of the digital journey.
