Digital rewards / virtual cards
A virtual card still needs clear access and use instructions
A virtual reward card supplies card information digitally. It can be the benefit associated with an eligible Shopify purchase, but its format alone does not define qualification, acceptance, or the recipient's support path.
Distinguish the three parts of the experience
Customers can become confused when a promotional message, access page, and card terms are treated as one thing.
| Part | What it should explain |
|---|---|
| Shopify offer | Why the purchase may qualify and what benefit is described. |
| Digital access | How the recipient reaches the card information through the supplied process. |
| Card conditions | How the particular card may be used and where to obtain help. |
Make the connection recognizable
Identify the store and promotion in the recipient communication. The customer should understand why a card-related message follows their purchase and which action is expected. Avoid exposing sensitive card information in promotional messages or asking recipients to send it to ordinary email support.
Describe only the supported experience
A virtual reward card is not automatically a credit product. It does not imply that every wallet, device, merchant, or transaction type is supported. The applicable issuer instructions and card terms determine use. Explain digital access without promising conditions that the program does not establish.
