Digital engagement / repeat purchase
Plan the next purchase without confusing it with the earned reward
A repeat-purchase objective asks whether customers return after the qualifying order. That is a separate question from whether the digital reward was delivered or accessed successfully.
Clarify what is already earned
The recipient should understand which benefit belongs to the original Shopify offer. Any later promotion must be distinguishable from the steps required to receive that benefit. This prevents a follow-up message from appearing to change the original conditions.
Write the commercial question before evaluating it
Use a short planning structure rather than assuming every recipient will return.
- Define the relevant group of customers.
- Specify what counts as a later purchase.
- Choose a consistent observation period.
- Record other campaigns or seasonal changes that could influence buying.
- Determine which evidence can support comparison and which cannot.
Understand the card's relationship to the store
A reward card is not automatically store-specific credit. Depending on its terms, its use may not be tied to the merchant who ran the promotion. Treat later Shopify purchases as an outcome to understand, not an inherent feature of delivering the card.
