Shopify programs / post-purchase

Give the customer a clear next step after checkout

A post-purchase eReward follows an eligible purchase under the offer conditions. Its communication should explain the next relevant milestone, not turn an order receipt into a claim that the card is already available.

Map the messages to the journey

Customers may encounter separate messages at different times. Each should add useful information.

  1. The offer explains the qualifying purchase and reward before checkout.
  2. The purchase confirmation identifies the order without implying an unfinished decision is complete.
  3. A qualification update explains the outcome when it is known.
  4. The reward notification describes the available recipient step.
  5. A later service message addresses an actual unresolved access or support need.

Make the reward recognizable when it arrives

Use a consistent promotion name and a clear connection to the Shopify store. A customer should not need to search an order history to understand why a reward message appeared. Keep the required action separate from optional promotional content.

Do not add requirements after purchase

The digital journey should fulfill the offer, not create a new purchase or marketing obligation that the customer did not understand at checkout. Applicable terms determine qualification and access; they should be available at the relevant point in the journey.
